Price Accuracy & Calculation Disclaimers

  • Informational Use: Retail fuel rates are published for convenient daily tracking. While the application synchronizes with verified public price announcements during official revision cycles, retail pump rates at individual filling stations may vary slightly due to regional freight equalization margins, dealer commission adjustments, or local transportation differentials.
  • Estimation Calculations: The built-in calculators (Trip Cost Calculator, Full Tank Cost Estimator, and Fuel Volume Estimator) calculate estimates based on user-supplied parameters (distance in km, vehicle fuel average in km/L, or budget amount). They are designed for trip budgeting assistance and must not be considered binding financial or legal advice.

Information Collection, Permissions, and Use

We respect user privacy. All calculations and selected settings are executed locally on your device. The app does not require account creation, login credentials, or personal identification. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

1. Internet & Network Connectivity

Permissions: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

  • Purpose: Used to fetch current fuel rates and historical revision deltas from public API endpoints (oilprices.pk) and verify connectivity prior to initiating requests.
  • Privacy: Requests only download public tariff datasets. No personal identifiers or user tracking profiles are transmitted.

2. Price Adjustment Notifications

Permission: POST_NOTIFICATIONS

  • Purpose: Allows the app to deliver local notifications when official petroleum rate revisions occur (such as bi-monthly midnight price revisions).
  • User Control: You can enable or disable notification alerts at any time in the app's Settings tab or via Android system notification settings.

3. Background Synchronization & Device Boot

Permission: RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

  • Purpose: Enables Android WorkManager to reschedule lightweight scheduled price checks after your device restarts during the midnight verification window.
  • Privacy: Background checks run solely to verify public price numbers. The worker does not track GPS location or monitor background personal activities.

4. Local Data Storage & Offline Caching

  • Purpose: Verified prices, price deltas, and user preferences (selected language: English or Urdu, theme preference) are cached locally in private device storage (Android SharedPreferences) to support offline viewing.
  • Privacy: Cached records remain strictly on your local device. Uninstalling the app or selecting "Clear Storage" in Android settings permanently deletes all cached data.
